Competition Structural Mechanics (CSM) is Monarc's high performance livery and experimental research and development division. CSM products represent Monarc's commitment to the state of the art through the use of composite materials and advanced structural design. These stronger, lighter, faster decks are built to order and are created to meet the demands of our most discerning riders.
Many of our board models can be ordered as a CSM variant. You can expect the same quality, style and attention to detail found in all Monarc boards with the added benefit of bleeding edge technologies, upgraded materials and application tuned components.
Beyond carbon. Our basalt fiber cloth has nearly all of the strength and light weight characteristics of carbon fiber but is completely "biodegradable" since it's literally made from fibers of extruded volcanic stone. Combined with aerospace grade resins mated to a minimal wood subtrate, CSM decks with Vulcan Fibre are thinner, lighter and stiffer for high perfomance use.
Monarc's next generation composite. A traditional maple blank is first skeletonized to create a minimalist trussed structure. That structure is then filled with light, high density closed cell foam. The deck is finally laminated in layers of S-glass to create the ultimate carving and cruising deck. An extremely light weight matched with a snappy, predictable flex make FRS constructed boards an absolute favorite among our riders. The deck's natural shock damping effect also makes for a smooth, confidence inspiring ride.
In addition to crafting top tier products for our enthusiast consumers, Monarc CSM also pursues ongoing experimental projects. Through extensive finite element analysis (FEA) simulation as well as physical protoyping with new designs, materials and processes, Monarc aims to continually provide innovation proven through rigorous testing.
These developments help shape the future of Monarc products as we relentlessly pursue new ways to improve the board rider's experience.
This transparent, flexible, matte coating is offered as an optional sealant for all Monarc decks. This layer is completely hydrophobic (making a board totally waterproof) and blocks all of the sun's harmful rays that could potentially fade graphics or damage worn / exposed resins. The matte surface texture makes the board grippy to the touch and can be cleaned with soap and water.
